Learning about solids and liquids is no laughing "matter"...or is it?

We've been exploring the properties of solids, liquids and gases since December. Recently, we experimented with mixing solids and liquids. We mixed water with baking soda and, lo and behold,
crystals appeared overnight!

We also mixed water with candy. The candy dissolved in the water and liquefied. After several days, it hardened and became a solid again.

We know a solid can be held and a liquid takes the shape of its container.
But "Goo" stumped us. It has both properties!

It takes the shape of its container and we can hold it, too!

We were all smiles and giggles over "Goo"!
