Identification

  • Throughout September, teachers get to know students and complete the Gifted Checklist for each student in their homeroom.
  • During the same time frame, teachers are completing the top portion of the matrix for Academic Performance from the previous year's report card.
  • Students take the iReady Diagnostic in early September and the national percentile scores from the first diagnostic will be used as the final piece of data on the matrix.
  • By the first week of October, students will be identified and Gifted Instruction can begin.  
  • The checklist and matrix will help us to identify which students would benefit from Art Enrichment, STEM Enrichment, and possibly Music Enrichment.
